Joyce Vansean is the mother of four, a counselor, a non-profit executive director, and an activist organizer. She has a passion for helping others, and for serving her community. Throughout her career, she has run non-profits, opened restaurants, directed a festival, and worked with children with severe emotional disabilities. For the past 10 years, she has worked in the addiction field, where she creates programs to meet the needs of those who are most vulnerable and teaches people in her community about addiction.

She earned her Masters in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans and is licensed in the State of Louisiana to practice mental health counseling.
